I’m going to make this a short one as I’m going to bed soon. I’ll be leaving for Melbourne later in the day and I’ve just finished packing my stuff. Yes, another last minute job. I just hope I won’t miss out something important.
I met up with the girls for my birthday celebration last night and I’d like to thank them for all the well-wishes and of course the gift as well. THANK YOU SO MUCH! I hope you girls are satisfied with my birthday message. Hahaha.
Speaking of my previous entry, I can’t believe I didn’t mention Adeline. *slaps my forehead* I must be getting old! Then again, I will be older in two days time so please do pardon me. Thank you all for celebrating my birthday! Hope to catch up with you girls again soon. Let’s not wait till February (pssst, a certain Ms Teo’s birthday), okay?
And yes, I’m officially excited about my trip. I’ll be back in ten days’ time and I promise I’ll post up the photos as soon as possible.
Don’t miss me while I’m away!
My birthday message
I can’t recall who came up with this birthday message thing but for this year, the girls and I have to come up with a short birthday speech about our friendship on our birthdays. As my birthday is drawing near and that I’ll be meeting the girls later this evening for my birthday celebration, I thought I’d be smart and post it up on my blog now.
Those who know me well will know that I don’t have a lot of friends. Ten years ago, I have six close friends. Ten years later, I still have six close friends and they’re the same six people. Other than these six individuals, I don’t know of any other people who I can label as friends. Acquaintances maybe but definitely not friends. I don’t make friends easily, I suppose. Because of that, I’m very thankful that I’ve come to know you girls (Shir, Val and Koreen). Thanks for making my three years at the polytechnic so memorable and for making our MIS years more bearable. I wouldn’t have survived it without you girls. Our silly poly chatting sessions and dreadful project-discussions days are some of the many things that we’ll remember by and joke about even when we’re all old and wrinkly. I’m glad that I have these memories to share with you girls.
We might have some disagreements and misunderstandings amongst us but I always hope that we can be more open towards one another and in turn know one another better. I must also thank you girls for putting up with me all these years and for giving me all the encouragement I need during my lousy days. I really appreciate them, even though I don’t always say it out.
Without you girls, I’d have nobody to complain to. Without you girls, I’d have nobody to disturb when I’m on Skype or MSN. Without you girls, I’d have nobody to travel with. Without you girls, nobody will read my blog. Without you girls, I’d be pretty much a loner. I’d like to thank you girls for the ten years of friendship and I hope there’ll be many, many more years to come.
You girls should be touched that I stayed up so late to write this, especially since I’m still recovering from a cold. Hahaha. Don’t you dare grill me later! Go read it yourself!
Linkin Park gig – Friggin awesome!
Four days have passed and I’m still having withdrawal symptoms from Linkin Park’s gig. It was a mind-blowing experience and I left the stadium with my ears ringing and my voice hoarse from all the screaming. I’ve said it before when they performed at the Padang in 2004 and I’ll say it again – Linkin Park’s friggin AWESOME!!! No doubt about it! The performance was simply electrifying and explosive and spectacular; what the heck, I could go on forever. LP’s just bloody GREAT!
The concert was delayed for an hour but LP is definitely worth waiting for. Yes, I have no complaints whatsoever even though I had to pee but didn’t dare to leave my seat for fear of missing the opening of the concert. Nothing is going to make me miss that!
The view of the stage and mosh pit A from my seat.
Mosh pit B – how can anyone in this mosh pit see anything beyond the barricade and sea of heads in pit A? Poor souls.
Awesome backdrop! I particularly like this one with the monogram. I have to say they had some pretty cool backdrops this time round.
Besides the photos, I also not-so-secretly took a few video clips of the concert. Strangely enough, the stadium ushers didn’t stop the fans from taking any photos or videos so I took the liberty to record a few clips for keepsake purposes. And of course, for posting on my blog. To be honest, I was so afraid of being hauled out of the arena while taking the clips. Just like what happened at the Good Charlotte gig. Hahahaha.
That was LP performing No More Sorrow, if you haven’t already guessed from the loud, angsty “No More Sorrow!!!” coming from my sis towards the end of the clip. Well, I’d like to think that was her. *guffaws*
That was the last bit of What I’ve Done and almost full song of Faint. I enjoyed myself at the gig but I wished they could perform more songs. Still, it was a great performance by LP. To those fans who missed the gig – where have you been?!!
Let’s just hope they won’t wait make us wait another three and a half years before popping by our sunny island again! I wanna watch LP again!!! Oh yes, I think it must’ve been the first time Shir has seen me get so excited. Hmm… I think excited is somewhat an understatement. *lol*
